Are you passionate about aircrafts such as helicopters, jets, airplanes? Have you considered becoming a licensed pilot to fly them or becoming an aeronautical engineer to build them? A great place to get information on any of that would have been at the recent Aviation Education and Career Expo.
The Aviation Education and Career Expo held on November 7, 2025 was presented by Paragon Aviation Group and Jet Rider Center in Hagerstown Regional Airport was in a way like a convention to make connections with groups, associations, and even company runners that can help guide you into a career of aviation.
The president of the Paragon Aviation Group Crystal Kubecka shares, “The Aviation Education & Career Expo is an incredible opportunity to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals, Paragon is proud to support this event and help students explore the many career paths the aviation industry has to offer. Seeing their curiosity and excitement firsthand is truly inspiring.” Kenwood’s aviation students were able to experience and explore more about the aviation industry firsthand.
One of Kenwood’s three Aviation teachers, Mr. Rahman works with students in their final year of the Aviation program. “I want our Aviation students to realize that there are many possible career paths in Aviation, more than they probably think. A lot of students, when they hear about our Aviation program, they assume that it’s a program that will teach them how to fly a plane but it’s more than that,”he shares. “From Drone Pilot, Flight Attendant, to Ground Crew, to Ramp Agent, to Air Traffic Controller, to Aircraft Mechanic, and so on,” There’s so much a student can explore and prepare to do with Kenwood’s Aviation program. He wants all students to know how many options we have instead of the basic assumptions students make when joining the class.
Tristian Lavilla-Smith is a 4th year Aviation student of Kenwood’s program. Within his final year, Tristan hopes to receive his Private Pilot’s license using the knowledge of his four years here in Aviation. His favorite thing about Aviation was the Expo as he was able to speak with many counselors from different groups that could lead to a promising aviation career.
Aviation is a very promising career that can lead to bigger opportunities such as being able to build aircrafts that are specialized for certain things and being able to pilot the aircrafts. Any passion you have for engineering, flight, science, there’s always a path for it in aviation.
