Despite the score the lady bluebirds soar! The 2025 season record does not define the performances as a team and as individuals. The Kenwood Bluebirds girls soccer team shows up and shows out. It’s all or nothing on that field.
The Lady Bluebirds girls soccer team is coached by Doug Loftus and Tara Mcrae. Both Coach Doug and Tara make an effort to be there everyday and to help the girls improve and get better at their sport, to never give up, and to lead them in the right direction.
“Be a gold fish. Gold fish don’t remember anything that happened in the last 5 seconds,” is something Coach Doug would often remind the girls during tough games to help the girls get out of their head , move on, and do better next time. To not get hung up on the tough moments is such a valuable reminder for on and off the field.
Though it was a tough season based if you look at wins and losses, players agree there’s more to the season that wins and losses. “Do not let your sport or a score define you as a player or as a team,” shares teammate KK. There is more to your team than stats; it’s the bonds you created , the wins you do have and the place you can go to when you’re feeling unmotivated or just need a break from reality.
The Kenwood girls soccer team always came out and gave their best , and no matter the score at the end of the day we are all in it together as a family. They went 4-8 for the season but swept Dundalk and Parkville with shut out wins.
To be a part of the Kenwood girls soccer team means you are working together, supporting your teammates through thick and thin , learning and growing with each other, and being more than just a team but a family.
