As the temperature drops, so do the leaves! Fall begins, and so does the fun. The air gets filled with the pumpkin scent, Halloween is around the corner, the football games, homecoming, and don’t forget about the pumpkin spice lattes!
On September 22, the season starts and the air gets gloomy. And the weather is what everyone gets excited about, bringing a sense of comfort and doing traditions like friendsgiving, apple picking, jumping in leaves, drinking seasonal drinks, and enjoying time with friends.
People feel most spirit around homecoming, because the air is different from the other seasons, it’s not too cold and not too hot. The weather is breezy for the cute fuzzy boots. As the summer fades away people are getting ready to feel the breeze and just enjoy their time where the leaves fall!
“When the leaves fall and pile up, I know that my favorite season is around,” shares senior Star. Many of the favorite fall traditions, from making candy apples to carving a pumpkin, have been around for years. Making candy apples have been part of fall harvest celebrations for many years over the time. Carving pumpkins is something that all ages can enjoy. Kids can help with cleaning out the seeds and drawing faces.
Making candy apples is a customizable activity, like you can put whatever you want on them like caramel drizzle, crumbled cookies, crumbled nuts, and more things like sprinkles.
At the end of craving your pumpkin, you can have a cute decoration for your front porch or anywhere you want to put it. They also light up inside so while people walk past your house, it will be spooky and orange!
Many people find making candy apples nostalgic, whether it’s the smell or the taste. Making the candy apples with friends and family can create so many more memories.
Although summer is fun, fall is the only season where you feel the nostalgia in the air. Things like apple picking, jumping in leaves, going into your local store for seasonal dishes, and etc. Fall is all about spending time with your friends and family doing the things you love, whether it’s jumping in the leaves or picking up your favorite drink from your local cafe! Enjoy the season, KHS!
