In the beginning of the school year, Kenwood welcomed a new assistant principal, Mr. Dunlap. He came to us from the Crossroads Center. He has been all over Baltimore County. He started at Deer Park Middle Magnet School before becoming an administrator at Lansdowne Middle School, Golden Ring Middle School, and then working at Crossroads Center (which is an alternative school for middle school students) before he moved up to high school here at Kenwood.
He’s enjoying his start to KHS. Kenwood High School is special to him as he likes “our community feel of the building”. He says every adult has welcomed him since he got here. The reason he picked Kenwood is because he has never worked in a high school before, which he says he now regrets as he wishes he switched to the high school level sooner.
He says he is looking forward to the change and getting a fresh start, especially as the principal to the new freshmen this year. He hopes to have a positive impact on the attendance rate, as well as in making sure students are starting high school off right with getting good grades.
We look forward to seeing what Mr. Dunlap can do here at KHS and hope he enjoys his first year.
