For many years, Ms. Weihs has run the Wellness Center and supported many students. If you’re a student who has never utilized their care, it’s time to meet Ms. Weihs and the Wellness Center!
Ms. Weihs has worked in BCPS school-based centers for 10 years. She has earned nursing degrees and “enjoys combining her background in public health with nursing and working in the public schools.” Outside of work, she likes “hiking, singing with a community choir, traveling, and spending time with her family!”
Moreover, she operates the Kenwood School-Based Health Center on Mondays and Wednesdays during school hours. The Center offers “medical check-ups, sports physicals, family planning, vaccinations, mental health screenings, and sick visits” for free!
All students can benefit from the Wellness Center, like athletes. KHS Wrestler Tori’ Sturgis shares “Ms. Weihs did my sports physical for wrestling. I appreciated that I was able to get it done quickly in School and didn’t have to sit in a Doctor’s office waiting room.” For Tori, the Wellness Center made her physical into a quick and simple experience.
If you’re an athlete needing a physical, a student who requires shots, or you are simply interested in any of the Wellness Center’s services, you can make an appointment by calling or visiting the health-suite to talk to staff. The phone number for the Center is 443-809-4726.
Additionally, enrollment forms are available through the FOCUS Parent Portal, or can be picked up from the health suite. Ms. Weihs states that “insurance is not required, but bring a copy of your insurance card if you have one.”
Ultimately, Ms. Weihs and the Wellness Center are here to support all Kenwood students with free health services. Thank you to Ms. Weihs for running our School-Based center and giving our students essential care.
