Kenwood’s Broadcast class, ran by Mr. Lyon, is up and running again this year. Just like last year students can tune in to WKHS Channel during the end of their first period class on both A and B days. But students and parents can go back and rewatch any broadcast at any time. Be sure to subscribe to the big K so you’re sure to not miss important school information.
“We are trying to make sure that the announcements are something that everyone takes part in this year so that our students have all of the information that they need and receive all the celebration that they deserve,” shares Mr. Lyon.
In order to make the announcements engaging and fun and something students are interested in tuning in to, be sure to email Mr. Lyon by 8:30 each morning with highlights from games, school events, information on upcoming announcements, student or staff recognitions.
“Even the smallest celebration can make a student’s day so please don’t hesitate to send a picture of a student’s work or a shout-out to a student for having a great week. Any material can make the production better and may just put a smile on a student’s face,” adds Lyon.
WKHS is also interested in filming school clubs and organizations in action to produce commercials and create interest in the clubs that Kenwood has to offer.
Tuning in to WKHS daily is a great way to stay informed of what’s happening at KHS and to celebrate students and staff’s accomplishments. Though students can enroll in the broadcast class to participate on the announcements daily, anyone who would like to go on air or co anchor with the broadcast students are always welcome as well.
