It is just about summer here at Kenwood High! Final exams will be taking place today, Thursday June 5; tomorrow June 6; Friday June 7 is graduation and school will be closed; but final exams will resume on Monday, June 10 and Tuesday June 11.
If students have finals they need to make up school will be in session for a full day on Wednesday, June 12 to make up final exams. Otherwise, once students complete finals they are on summer vacation!
Though summer is a great time to take a break from schoolwork, be sure to check out this list of summer reads by senior Glory Abatai and don’t forget to complete your summer reading for your ELA class before school resumes on August 26.
Summer is also a great time to explore local history whether that’s a day trip to DC, checking out Fort McHenry or other local museums in downtown Baltimore, or heading north to historic areas like Philadelphia or Gettysburg.
Summer too though is a much anticipated time for pools and beach time with the local beaches of Delaware and Ocean City only a little over two hours away. Don’t forget to support your local fire departments either with their summer carnivals but there’s also always the bigger amusement parks like Hershey to the north and Six Flags.
No matter what you choose to do with your time off this summer, we hope everyone has a safe and relaxing summer break . We look forward to seeing you back in the halls of KHS on August 26!
