Fall sports season is coming to an end with play offs as we head out of October into November. The Kenwood boys team has looked great this season with a 7-2-3 record. They are the number 2 seed and will be hosting rival Dundalk today, Friday October 27 at 3:30 pm in the Regional Semifinals.
Standout players this year have been lead scorers have been freshmen David Argueta Torres and sophomore Cullen Stahl. Junior Cohen Paugh has also been great at leading the team from the midfield.Kenwood’s freshmen goalie, Anthony Baca Fuentes, has had a great first season with the Bluebirds too.The team’s strength though are their veteran defense led by seniors Gabe Priet and Will Griffith.
The most exciting game of their season so far has been a win against Loch Raven on the road where they scored the game winning goal with just a minute left in the game! They also had an exciting game against Parkville High where they ended tied 1-1 in double overtime.
It’s been an exciting season to watch. “The offense is young and exciting,” adds Kenwood’s Athletic Director Coach Ruocco. With playoff season here and the beautiful spring like weather tonight is a great chance to come watch this exciting team in action.
