The winter sports have come to an end for the 2018-2019 school year and the season for multiple sports teams was a success.

In Track and Field Katelyn Taylor placed 4th at Regionals and advanced to States to become 1 out of 12 shot putters to make it to the indoor track state championship held at the Prince George’s County Indoor Complex throwing 28 feet 2 ½ inches. “Even though it was my first year I enjoyed doing shot put and had a lot of fun. I wish that I had started doing shot put in my first year of high school.”
Other highlights of indoor track include Jada Malone who took 5th place in the 300-meter race out of 40 plus BCPS runners. Kaniya Lawson took 7th in the 55-meter race out of 60 plus BCPS runners and Ayotunde Omomo took 5th out of 17 BCPS shot put throwers.

Our Girls Varsity Cheerleading placed 2nd in the Baltimore County Championships at New Town High School. Their tradition of excellence over the years continues as they advanced to Regional Championship at Harford Community College. This year’s Winter Cheer Award winners were Tyshai Ward as MVP, Lena Deaver as UNSUNG HERO, and Alyssa Greaver for BLUE PRIDE.

For the Allied Bowling team Josh Wright bowled the 3rd best game with a score of 176 at the BCPS Bowling Championship held at Perry Hall Brunswick Lanes.

Both our boys and girls basketball teams finished with double digit regular season wins and both teams hosted playoff games. Our Girls Basketball team won their home playoff game over Patapsco High School before losing to Aberdeen. Aiyanna Wilson was the top scorer for the Kenwood Bluebirds .
Congratulations to all the Kenwood winter season athletes on successful winter sports season and good luck to athletes returning to the fields for spring sports season.
