The KHS Varsity Football Bluebirds have been blazing quite the winning path through this year’s football season. They kicked the season off with a 30-6 at halftime lead against Chesapeake High that was abruptly ended due to heavy thunder and lightening. They have had some big wins against rivals like the Hereford Bulldogs with a 38-37 win at away Hereford and a big Homecoming win 49-12 against Dulaney with three defensive touchdowns and a special teams touchdown. There are high hopes that the Bluebirds will finish this season with a winning season for the first time since 2013.

Players and coaches have both been recognized this season for their successes. Coach Krumholz was named the Baltimore Ravens High School Coach of the week and Karlar Farley was named the Baltimore Sun Athlete of the Week. Currently, Karlar Farley is #4 in the state with 582 Receiving Yards, #6 in the state with 31 Receptions, and #36 in the state with 857 total Yards.

TJ Greene is #12 in the state with 777 Rushing Yards. Keyon Garrus is #49 in the state with 731 Total Yards and Adam Harter is #68 in the state with 627 Total Yards. Both Karlar and TJ will eclipse the 1,000 Yard mark this season, which is an incredible accomplishment for the team to have two players go over 1,000 yards.

The entire offensive line of Malik Boyd, Blake Krause, Phil Cooper, Parrish Phillips, Keyshawn Matthews and Daniel Fenner all deserve major credit for this tremendous success this season.

No matter how the season ends the Bluebird Football team has had a season to be proud of and celebrate. We wish all of their seniors moving on after this season the best of luck and look forward to great things in the future from the Bluebird Football program.
