With all the days of having to wake up early at 6am and get ready, the season of sleeping in is almost upon us. The several hours out the door to school just to repeat five days in a row can be stressful so now what are we going to do with our 2-3 months of freedom. Though it’s a great time to catch up on some rest don’t let it completely go to waste. Spend your time wisely as we only have a few summers of freedom left before real life begins.

Family and Friends

Take some time to catch up with family and friends this summer. Pile in the car together and take off to the beach for some much needed down time together. Plan some lunches or dinners together. Go see some movies together.

Be Active

Being consistently active is a great way to stay healthy. Go swim, go walk some local trails or parks, take up a new hobby like skateboarding, participate in your favorite sport, or do some overdue yard work for your parents.

Enjoy the Outdoors and Nature

Though the beach and pool are great relaxing ways to enjoy the outdoors try something a little more adventurous like camping or hiking our local state parks. Though big name concerts are always fun check out the local music talent that are often scheduled to play in local outdoor venues.

Get Ahead with your Academics

Use the summer to take a college course or two to get a head start on college or master a new hobby or explore a career interest. Get an internship doing something you hope to purse after high school. Read some good books that offer you a new perspective or even get a head start on next school year’s reading.

However you decide to spend your summer enjoy it. Summer is a time for making memories so laugh a lot, smile, and take it all in. Before we know it it’ll be back to school time again. Have a great and amazing summer vacation, Kenwood!
